Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org, today announced that it has added its first team in Iowa, with the Sioux City Hornets, scheduled to begin play in the 2016-2017 season. "Not only are we excited about having our first team in Iowa," stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman, "but we have another example of an ABA team owned by a former ABA player. Recently Anthony Lumpkin put a team in Daytona Beach Florida."
The team will be owned by Maurice "Mo" Williams who has five years of pro basketball experience which includes two years in the ABA with the Atlanta Wildcats and three years in Australia and China.
"Basketball has been a true blessing for me as a player," added Williams. "I'm expecting it to be the same as an owner."
Brandon Allen will serve as GM; he started as a volunteer youth basketball coach until joining Basketball Elite as a scout and player development specialist. for more information, email mowilliams8@icloud.com or sampsonradkovicjh@gmail.com or visit www.americanbasketballassociation.org .
