YORK BUCCANEERS ADDED TO ABA EXPANSION

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org today announced that it has added the York Buccaneers to its growing group of expansion teams that will begin play in November. "We are really looking forward to having Tyrell Bowie and the York Buccaneers in the league this year," stated ABA Co-founder Joe Newman. "Last year Coach Bowie distinguished himself as Head Coach of the Baltimore Hawks, one of the top teams in the ABA. We expect the York Buccaneers will be very strong."

Tyrell Bowie was one of the top 20 high school players in the country at St. Francis Academy and was expected to be a top Division 1 recruit. However, his playing career ended with an injury. Off the court, he became a successful sales executive, on the court an outstanding coach at several levels.

Coach Bowie and his family moved to York, PA in 2012 and have become in integral part of the community working with youth groups. "The Baltimore Hawks were very successful on and off the court last season, I really learned a lot," added Bowie. "And I am going to do everything I can to make sure that the Buccaneers follow in the same path. We are very excited." For more information,
