NEW YORK COURT KINGS ADDED TO THIS YEAR'S EXPANSION TEAMS

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org today announced that the New York Court Kings have been added to the growing list of expansion teams that will begin play in November. "The Northeast Division is shaping up to be one of the best in the ABA," stated ABA Co-Founder Joe Newman. "And in Nicole Byrd, we have a fabulous new owner. We're very excited to have her as part of the ABA."

Nicole Byrd is a Detective Investigator for the Kings County District Attorney's office. She is currently attending the FBI National Academy in Quantico VA. A mother of four, Mrs. Byrd supervises a team of five in the Warrant Division.

"Basketball has been my life since my son statted playing at age five," added Mrs. Byrd. "As he got older and he started going to tryouts and seeing him get rejected over and over again, I knew starting my own team would be my next step. I never thought I would own my own team."

"The New York Court Kings is a team comprised of young men with the drive and determination to win the game. With the help of their Head Coach Shawan Byrd, who has 20 years of coaching and winning several championships alonfg with Asst Coaches Gregory Steele and Todd Lander, we hope to compete for the ABA Championship in our first season."
