Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org today announced that it has added the Florida All-Stars located in Gainesville FL to its growing list of expansion teams for the upcoming season. "Our Florida division is growing beautifully," stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman, "and this team is certainly a great addition. I've know Ansaun Fisher for many years as he worked with the back-to-back ABA Champion Jacksonville Giants previously - and certainly knows what it takes to be competitive."
The team is owned by Ansaun J. Fisher Sr, the Chairman, President and CEO of Fisher Enterprise LLC, a diversified business and development management company with interests in sports and entertainment. He has been involved with professional basketball for over fifteen years including 12 years with the NBA Miami Heat. He is also President of the Jacksonville All-Stars Youth AAU Basketball Association.
"I love to help families in need and spend a lot of my time working in programs such as the rescue program for children ages 5-17 and disadvantaged families in need," added Fisher. "Having attended both Santa Fe Community College and the University of Florida in Gainesville, we believe the city is the perfect fit - and we're looking to make a great impact on the ABA."
