A New American Basketball Association (ABA) Team Coming to Everett for 2015 Season

Everett, WA. April 24, 2015 – Reynolds Sports Entertainment Inc., Washington State not-for-profit organization has acquired the territorial rights to field a team in the American Basketball Association (ABA) for the 2015/16 season.

The newly formed team, “The Everett Evolution” will amalgamate three current ABA franchises based in Washington State: The Tacoma Rise, Lakewood Panthers and The Washington Rampage. The team has already solidified plans host teams from Canada, Japan, California, and Texas in its tentative new home —Xfinity Arena in Everett (formerly known as Comcast Arena). "The concept of combining three good teams into one "super" team is very innovative," stated Joe Newman, ABA co-founder. "The three owners involved with the new Evolution team have a world of experience on and off the court and we can see this program being one of the best in the ABA. We are very excited and will be watching this closely."

The team will give local college athletes and other local talented athletes the opportunity to continue their basketball careers, after exhausting their amateur eligibility, and provide a platform to achieve professional contracts.

“This is a family-friendly, entertaining sports spectacle, but we want it to be accessible to everyone in the community, by keeping seat prices affordable, and entertainment value high,” says Chris Reynolds, President of Reynolds Sports Entertainment.

The Evolution will play a total of 16 to 18 total games for the 2015-16 season, matching up against some of the 100 ABA teams from across the nation, and the partners are working to see some games broadcast live on ESPN 3 and Fox Sports 1380.

Season Tickets will be going on sale soon and the team will be offering Common Shares into the team to ensure the team will become viable and sustain its existence in the Everett Community.

The Evolution will be inviting former players from all three teams to camp, and open tryouts are scheduled for June 7th at Kent-Meridian High from 12: 30pm-3:30 p.m.

Chris Reynolds developed the ABA team Tacoma Rise in 2012. David Williams is the President of Club Parkside-Lakewood Panthers, a team which has participated in the ABA since 2012. Kinshasa Martin, President of Rampage Sports- the Washington Rampage, has participated in the ABA since 2011.
