ABA ADDS COLUMBIA SC TO EXPANSION

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.americanbasketballassociation.org today announced that it has added Columbia SC to its growing list of expansion teams for the upcoming season. "What a great fit this is into our Mid-Atlantic Division," stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman. "And in Allen Franklin, we have a terrific new owner."

The Carolina Cougars are owned by Allen Franklinm, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he played four years of DI basketball. With a BS in Business and a BA in Engineering, Allen is currently VP of Operations for City Center Partnership and has been a head coach at the semi-professional level in South Carolina. Married with 7 children, he has the basketball and business experience that are needed for a successful team. "I am really looking forward to the challenge," added Franklin. "We have a lot to do both on and off the court so the next few months will be busy."
